Great ways to detox your mind, reset your spirit and grow

I have found that the best ways to reset is to connect to what you need in the current season that you are in. Most of us exist in a constant state of busy. Our bodies live in this fight or flight place which causes so many problems for our nervous system. Taking an inventory of how I spend my time and connecting it to my values and what I find to be most important is essential. So I made the list. What do I value? What is most important to me? What brings me a sense of calm when I need it most? I ask these questions because what works for me, does not mean it will work for you. Then after I made this list, I took a few days and listed how I spent my time. Does my time match up to my values? I love to learn and I find when I listen to a podcast, take a class, or read an inspirational book I connect to that part that fuels me. Truth be told Netflix and social media time drain that part. So I for me I needed that reset. That reminder to go back to the basics. Schedule in the time that I need to fuel my heart center.

These are the ways in which I detox my mind and reset back to my center.

Meditation- However this may show up. Some days I sit in a quiet room, do breath work, and sit on my pemf mat. Other days, I listen to an affirmation meditation while folding laundry. I believe that the purpose of meditation is the calm our spirit and find connection. This can look different for each of us. It CAN be what works for you. And it also can be just taking a few deep breaths and telling yourself you are loved.

Take a walk outside- DO not underestimate the power of vitamin d and fresh air. This is my go to reset. A perfect find in the middle of the day to reduce stress and bring you back to the beauty all around you.

Walk on the grass barefoot- This is a grounding exercise. Connecting to the earth is a recharge for your body and your mind. This is a stress reducing technique.

Fuel your body with the rainbow- There is not a better way to feel good that to fuel our body with colorful fresh non processed foods. Notice the shift in how your body feels

Connection- Dial a friend. Human connection can be the exact reset you need.

Gratitude List- This is a mind shift. And a reset back to the positive. If we focus on how hard we have it, we bring on more of the hard. If we focus on the good, we bring more of the good into our lives.


Each of us is beautifully unique, and not all of us enjoys to write or to read. Maybe connecting with a friend fuels you and helps to reset you back to calm. Or maybe going for a walk and taking that time alone helps to recenter you. I always encourage myself to try new methods to find new parts that I love and that help me to find my own joy. It is not about never feeling stress or fear or anxiety. But to be able to feel them and move through it. To not fuel those emotions but to rather use them to push me closer to growth. And to honor all the parts of me. Each part plays a role.
